Sound Isolation Clips for Walls and Ceilings
Consultants and specifiers requiring low cost, space-saving ceilings and walls that provide excellent noise control select resilient sound isolation clips. An acoustic isolation clip system for walls and ceilings’ fixed to ceiling joists, stud walls, or masonry, simply and easily secures drywall furring channel. Layers of plasterboard that depend on the specific design and acoustic requirements are fixed to the resilient channel using common construction practices.
Higher STC Values
A system offering higher STC values than plasterboard attached to standard resilient channel, model Akustik + Sylomer® Channel Clips ensures that installers will not inadvertently screw through the “resilient” leg of the channel into the joist or stud creating acoustic bridging. This feature cannot be underestimated given the many, unknown situations where resilient channel is accidentally rendered ineffective because it is hard-attached or rigidly connected.
The Akustik + Sylomer® Channel Clip
The Akustik + Sylomer® Channel Clip has been carefully designed to directly interface with the standard ‘Top hat’ metal furring channels which are widely available in the UK.
The low profile design of the Akustik + Sylomer® Channel Clip provides space and room volume savings for both acoustic and sound insulated walls and suspended ceiling installations.
Clip Fixing Method
The fixing method for the clip is quick and easy to implement thanks to a single central fastener. The ‘Top hat’ channel is then positioned in to place and fixed via 2 screws for extra security.
Varying levels of noise and vibration is decoupled by the use of a Sylomer® insert within the clip which is a proven material and well known in the industry that provides excellent acoustic results. The metal components provide an overload-proof and fail safe design, factors which are extremely important where resistance to fire or shock is critical.
