FDS Installation Guide.pdf
Description
Kinetics Model FDS Spring Vibration Isolators consist of high deflection, free-standing, unhoused, large diameter, laterally stable steel springs assembled into an upper load plate and leveling assembly. To assure stability, the spring isolators have lateral spring stiffness greater than 1.0 times the rated vertical stiffness and are designed to provide a minimum 50% overload capacity. Springs are epoxy powder coated, with a 1,000-hour salt spray rating per ASTM B-117. In lighter capacities, FDS Spring Isolators have molded neoprene bottom load plate assemblies. In heavier capacities, springs are welded to the load plate assemblies and are furnished with a neoprene noise isolation pad. FDS Isolators have provisions for bolting the isolator to the structure. FDS isolators are available with deflections to 4″ (102 mm) and with load capacities to 23,200 lbs. (10,523 kg) as standard products. Custom isolators with higher deflection and greater load capacities are also available. Kinetics Model FDS Spring Isolators are highly effective for control of both high and low frequency vibration produced by reciprocating air or refrigeration compressors, pumps, packaged air-handling and air-conditioning equipment, centrifugal and axial fans, internal combustion engines, etc.
Application
Kinetics Model FDS spring mounts are recommended for use in isolating floor-mounted sources of noise and vibration located near critically quiet areas.
Model FDS spring mounts are typically used to reduce the transmission of noise and vibration from low speed mechanical equipment into a building structure. Operating static deflections are available up to 4″ (102 mm) to compensate for long span flexible floor structures.
Model FDS spring mounts are used in a wide range of applications, some requiring Kinetics equipment bases in addition to spring isolators, and can be used to support and isolate the following equipment types: reciprocating air or refrigeration compressors, close coupled and base-mounted pumps, packaged air-handling and refrigeration equipment, centrifugal fans, internal combustion engines, and similar equipment.

FLS Installation Guide.pdf
Description
Kinetics Model FLS Vibration Isolators consist of free-standing large diameter laterally stabile steel springs assembled into welded steel housing assemblies fabricated to limit vertical movement of the isolated equipment if equipment loads are reduced, or if the equipment is subjected to large external forces. The housings also provide a constant free and operating height to facilitate installation. Spring elements are complete with internal noise isolation pads and have an adjusting and leveling bolt as a part of the top load plate assembly. Springs are epoxy powder coated, with a 1000 hour salt spray rating per ASTM B-117. Holes are provided in all isolators for bolting to the structure and to the supported equipment. The isolator can be welded to the structure as well. To assure stability, the springs have a lateral spring stiffness greater than 1.2 times the rated vertical stiffness, and are designed to provide a minimum of 50% overload capacity. FLS springs are available with deflections to 4″ (102 mm) and with load capacities to 23,200 lbs. (10,524 kg) as standard products. Custom isolators with higher deflections and greater load capabilities are also available.
Application
Kinetics Model FLS vertically restrained spring isolation mounts are recommended as a noise and vibration isolator for mechanical equipment located near critically quiet areas, when the equipment to be isolated has significant changes of weight during maintenance operations, and for equipment subjected to external forces or high wind loads. Model FLS mounts are typically used to reduce the transmission of noise and vibration into supporting structures from equipment carrying a large fluid load that may be drained, such as boilers, cooling tower and chillers, and cooling towers which also require hold-down for wind loads.
Operating static deflections are available up to 4″ (102 mm) to compensate for long span flexible floor structures and maintain a high degree of noise and vibration isolation.

SL Installation Guide.pdf
Description
Kinetics Model SL Spring Vibration Isolators consist of high deflection, color-coded stabile springs assembled into telescoping cast iron or aluminum housings which are complete with a 1/4″ (6 mm) thick ribbed noise isolation pad bonded to the lower load surface and with an adjusting and leveling bolt as a part of the top assembly. Slots or holes are provided in all isolators for bolting to the structure. Model SL Spring Isolators are designed with a pre-adjusted snubbing feature to reduce movement during start-up and shut-down. Model SL Spring Isolators are available in deflections up to 1.84″ (47 mm), and with load capacities from 35 to 3500 lbs. (16 to 1588 kg). Springs are epoxy powder coated, with a 1000 hour salt spray rating per ASTM B-117. Kinetics Model SL Spring Isolators are typically used to isolate vibration produced by mechanical, industrial, or process machinery where more damping is required and less motion can be tolerated than with free-standing spring isolators. Internal leveling can be provided as an option, as can molded fiberglass noise pads.
Kinetics Model SL housed spring isolator mounts are used to isolate high and low frequency vibration generated by floor-mounted mechanical equipment located in non-critical areas.
Model SL mounts are typically used to isolate lightweight mechanical equipment, having lowest operating speeds of 1200 RPM, located on grade-supported slabs, or short structural floor spans, when the isolator-to-equipment connection is such that a leveling bolt can extend above the mount and act as a leveling and attachment bolt for supported equipment.
Model SL isolators are available as Model SLI and are typically used as above except that connection to supported equipment must be by a flat friction plate and level adjustment must be internal to the mount to allow access to adjustment bolts.
Model SL isolators are available as Model SLP and are used as above except that connections to equipment require a centering pin and level adjustment must be internal to the mount to allow access to adjustment bolts.

Holes or slots are provided in all isolators for bolting to the structure. Model SM Spring Isolators are designed with an adjustable snubbing feature to reduce movement during start-up and shut-down. Model SM Spring Isolators are available in deflections up to 1.79″ (46 mm) and with load capacities from 250 to 5900 lbs. (113 to 2676 kg). Application
Kinetics Model SM housed spring isolators are used to isolate high and low frequency vibration, and to allow adjustable damping of vertical motion, generated by floor-mounted mechanical equipment and industrial machinery located in critical or non-critical areas.
